Content of the Lecture

The lecture deals with engineering principles for ensuring cyber security along the software development life cycle. Constructive and analytical development measures to achieve protection goals through systematic prevention and detection of vulnerabilities will be discussed. The lecture addresses the adoption and implementation of countermeasures in various development phases. Relevant fundamentals from the area of formal security models will be introduced.

Learning Objectives of the Lecture

  • Students are able to apply measures to detect and avoid vulnerabilities in different development phases.
  • Students acquire the ability to name criteria from security standards and evaluate their fulfillment.
  • Students master central security principles and their application to specific use cases.
  • On the basis of security models, students are able to formalize security policies and recognize violations of a policy.
  • Students are familiar with the handling and processing of security incidents.

The lecture is given on Thursdays 11:30-13:00.

Control of Success

Success is measured in the form of an oral examination, usually lasting 25 minutes in accordance with § 4 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 SPO.

Recommendations

Knowledge of Softwaretechnik I and Softwaretechnik II is recommended.
