Motivation

In modern system and software engineering, complex systems are described using multiple models, each following a different metamodel. Integrating these heterogeneous models is a key challenge in ensuring consistency and coherence. The Virtual Single Underlying Model (V-SUM) concept unifies multiple views into a single underlying representation, but constructing a V-SUM requires careful preparation and integration of the underlying metamodels. Supporting this process is crucial for advancing multi-view modeling research and developing practical tools for model integration.

Tasks

The student assistant will support ongoing research on V-SUM development by preparing metamodels for integration into a Virtual Single Underlying Metamodel. This includes analyzing existing metamodels, identifying correspondences between elements, and assisting in designing and implementing preliminary integration workflows or scripts. The student may also help with testing implementations, documenting findings, and supporting the research team in small experiments or case studies involving multi-view models.

Benefits

  • Gain practical experience in multi-view modeling, metamodel integration, and prototype development.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge research in V-SUM/V-SUMM
  • Opportunity to contribute to a real research project.
