Practical Course Overview

The practical course aims to expand the knowledge acquired in the software engineering lectures through hands-on application. Students learn to design, implement, and evolve software in collaboration with AI-based development tools and autonomous coding agents. In doing so, fundamental principles and techniques of agentic software engineering are acquired, as well as the skills required to use modern AI-assisted development processes effectively.

Procedural Details

  • Throughout the practical course, students work on weekly assignments covering different areas of software engineering. The course follows a flipped-classroom approach: Based on a brief introduction and the provided learning materials, students prepare for the respective topics and subsequently apply their knowledge to practical assignments.
  • At the end of the course, students develop a software project of their own choice using the concepts and techniques of Agentic Software Engineering covered throughout the course. The results are presented in a final presentation.
  • Participation in the ``course introduction`` and ``final presentation`` is required.

Documents

The materials will be made available on the ILIAS platform.
